Long-wave radiation from the sun heats up the greenhouse body and increased air temperature inside it. n the cold season greenhouse solar heating (by solar collectors) is used to accumulate energy. These devices have different sizes and design features. In the solar collector, infrared radiation is converted into thermal radiation. To use the effect, a presetting of solar heating is made.

The collector planes are oriented to the south. Solar panels are installed vertically or at an angle to the horizon (the tilt angle is numerically equal to the geographical latitude of the area). Collectors are installed away from tall trees and walls of houses so that no shadows fall on them.

The vertical arrangement of the collector has several advantages. If the plane of the adsorber is perpendicular to the ground, snow, autumn leaves and debris do not accumulate on it.

Features of greenhouse solar heating

Factory solar collectors, designed exclusively for heating the water in the system, are made flat and vacuum. The heat exchanger of the device gives off heat to a single or double-circuit coolant circulation system. Flat ones consist of an adsorber that absorbs infrared radiation, transparent glass and a heat-insulating layer.

Pros of using solar collectors in greenhouse heating:

  • – quick payback of these structures
  • – reliability of structures
  • – long service life (18-20 years).

These devices use free solar energy and heat the heating medium to 40-60 °C.

Cons of solar collectors:

  • – low efficiency with short daylight hours, constant cloudiness and low air temperatures
  • – the pipes of the heating system coming from the collectors must be insulated in order to reduce heat loss during water transportation.

This leads to additional costs. Another greenhouse heating systems are here.
